TDA HIPAA Update
The course will review the most recent guidance from HHS/OCR regarding the continued protection of patient data (PHI) that every dental practice must be aware of. The course will also review and provide a detailed analysis of the latest cybersecurity scams that are affecting the dental industry and endangering the protection of patient data (PHI).
Learning Objectives:
- Provide an overview regarding the requirements of a HIPPA HHS/OCR mandated risk analysis test that every dental practice must be aware of and perform.
- Provide an overview of the administrative safeguards that must be implemented in order to protect patient data (PHI).
- Provide an overview of the technology safeguards that must be implemented in order to protect patient data (PHI).
- Provide the latest HHS/OCR guidance for defending against a cybersecurity attack in order to protect patient data (PHI).
- Review the latest cybersecurity attacks that are affecting dental offices on a national basis, and how dental offices can prevent a cybersecurity attack in order to avoid substantial fines and penalties.

Stuart J. Oberman is the founder and President of Oberman Law Firm, with over 30 years of experience in healthcare law. A graduate of Urbana University and John Marshall Law School, he has served as in-house counsel for a Fortune 500 company before establishing his practice.
