TDA Expands Continuing Education Opportunities as CE Tracking Moves to CE Broker
What Members Need to Know for 2027
TDA’s Continuing Education (CE) tracking program is ending on December 31, 2026. We are making this change to align with the Tennessee Board of Dentistry’s updated audit process.
What’s changed?
Recently, the Tennessee Board of Dentistry made the decision to require the use of CE Broker in its CE audits and is phasing out audit submissions via email, fax, or mail.
While the Board does not currently require dentists to use CE Broker for standard license renewals, it has integrated the platform into its official audit process. If you are selected for a CE audit, you must submit your CE certificates directly through CE Broker; a TDA CE transcript is no longer sufficient documentation. This means members who upload certificates into TDA’s tracking program would have to re-enter and upload those certificates into CE Broker if selected for an audit.
TDA will upload CE certificates directly to CE Broker when members take a TDA CE course. Your CE credit will be there even if you do not activate a CE Broker account.
TDA is Expanding Continuing Education Opportunities
While TDA's tracking service is ending, TDA Approved Continuing Education (ACE) remains a core member benefit.
TDA is expanding our educational offerings designed for dentists and their staff. In addition to the high-quality continuing education members have come to expect from the Music City Dental Conference, we’ve expanded free, live webinars in 2026 and continued to build our TDA CE On-Demand library of courses that dentists and their staff can access 24/7. In January 2027, TDA will launch IMPACT, a dental leadership conference designed specifically for dentists who want to grow as leaders and make an impact in their practice and their community.
TDA has long been a CERP-accredited provider, the dental profession’s standard for quality continuing education. This year TDA added PACE-accreditation to better support general dentists pursuing advanced recognition.
Managing Your CE Tracking Transition
Through December 31, 2026, you have two options:
- The TDA will continue to accept your CE submissions for the current biennium. You must keep your original certificates to upload into CE Broker if you are audited.
- Register for a free CE Broker account (recommended) to track your continuing education credits. By uploading your CE to CE Broker as you complete it, your records will be readily available if you are audited.
Beginning January 1, 2027:
- TDA-sponsored CE tracking will officially conclude. CE uploaded into the ADA member portal will remain as "pending."
- You may sign up for a free or upgraded CE Broker account to track continuing education, so your CE hours are in the system prior to an audit.
