In fact, she was involved in the update of the unforgettable teaching tool, “If Saliva Were Red” and was Editor-in-Chief of the online tool, “Best Practices for Infection Control in Dental Clinics During the COVID-19 Pandemic”. She is currently on the Editorial Review Board of the popular newsletter, Infection Control in Practice.
Ms. Gregory served on the Board of Directors of Association for Dental Safety (formerly known as OSAP). She has been awarded all three of the organization’s top leadership awards, including the Dr. James Crawford Lifetime Achievement Award. Karen volunteers for North Carolina Missions of Mercy in an effort to help those in need. Early in 2023, she launched her own consulting firm to “inspire frontline healthcare workers to include safety in every process”.

The course will review the most recent guidance from HHS/OCR regarding the continued protection of patient data (PHI) that every dental practice must be aware of. The course will also review and provide a detailed analysis of the latest cybersecurity scams that are affecting the dental industry and endangering the protection of patient data (PHI).

2024 Chemical Dependency & Prescription Writing Course Description
In this one-hour webinar we will discuss the opioid epidemic and the effects it has on our culture and society. We will examine the disease of addiction (substance use disorder) including signs and symptoms, emphasizing the impact chemical dependency may have on the practice of dentistry. We will also review the Tennessee Board of Dentistry’s Chronic Pain Guidelines, which are the clinical practice guidelines for outpatient management of pain, as well as the minimum opioid prescribing guidelines.

Dr. William "Bill" Claytor, Jr. graduated from the University of North Carolina (Adams) School of Dentistry and completed a two-year General Practice Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has earned the Academy of General Dentistry’s Fellowship and Mastership, along with the AGD Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award. Dr. Claytor holds a certificate in Chemical Dependency Counseling from Union College and served as a Consultant to the ADA Council on Scientific Affairs for 2022–2023. He was a Board Member for the ADA’s Dental Well-Being Advisory Committee (2016–2021) and participated as a panelist at the 2023 Health & Well-being Summit. Larry has co-authored two books, “Powerful Practice” and “Getting Things Done”. He has also presented numerous workshops including, “Winning Patient Acceptance,” “Business Communication Systems,” and “The Leadership Challenge.”
Larry has spoken to professionals across the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom and even Europe and the Middle East on Practice Management, having received the Speaker’s Appreciation Award from several organizations, including the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Florida National Dental Congress, California Dental Association, Chicago Dental Society-Midwinter Meeting and the National University of Mexico, as well as a Certificate of Appreciation from the Georgia Dental Association and has earned a Certificate of Recognition from the American Dental Association.
